Paediatric Nasal Drop:
Otrivin Paediatric Nasal
Spray provides quick and long-lasting relief from nasal congestion. It should
be used when a child complains of a blocked nose due to cold, making breathing
difficult. It can also be used to help a child avoid keeping his/her mouth open
while sleeping, which may be due to a blocked nose.
Each Otrivin Paediatric
Nasal Drop contains Xylometazoline
Hydrochloride 0.05% w/v in an aqueous isotonic solution using Purified water
q.s.
Preservative:
Benzalkonium Chloride 0.01% w/v
Otrivin helps in opening
up the nasal passages by reducing the excessive nasal secretion and returns the
swollen blood vessels to their normal size.
Use of Otrivin
Paediatric Nasal Drop:
Otrivin Paediatric Nasal
Drop provides quick and long-lasting relief from nasal congestion. It is also
used for the relief of blocked noses caused by colds, hay fever or another
allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, etc.
Usage Direction
of Otrivin Paediatric Nasal Drop:
- Otrivin Paediatric Nasal
Drop is intended for external use only in a dose and direction as directed
by the physician.
- Gently clean your
child’s nose.
- Remove the bottle cap.
- Before using, practice
using the bottle as a dropper to develop good dosage control.
- Tilt your child’s head
slightly backward.
- Apply the drops into
each nostril without touching the nozzle and keep the head tilted back for
a short time to allow the drops to spread throughout the nose.
- Clean and dry the nozzle
before replacing it back into the bottle right after use.
- Do not skip or stop the
medicine without the physician's advice.
- Do not exceed 3
applications daily into each nostril.

information of Otrivin Paediatric Nasal Drop:
- It is dangerous to take
this preparation except under medical supervision.
- If allergic to this
medicine inform the physician immediately.
- If find any other
complication inform the physician immediately.
- Otrivin Paediatric Nasal
Drop should not be used in children below 1 year old.
- Otrivin Paediatric Nasal
Drop should not be used if the child has undergone recent trans-nasal
surgery (brain surgery where the operation was carried out through the
nose or mouth)
- If the child is
suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes) it
should not be used.
- It should not also be
used if the Child has chronic nasal inflammation with very dry nasal
passages (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).
- Do not use the pack if
the cap seal is broken on the bottle.
- Keep out of reach and
sight of children.
